My full name is Tomoki but my friends call me Tomo. I live in Los Angeles and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I'm a reporter at L.A. Material, a new news outlet founded by longtime L.A. Times journalists. I previously spent two years reporting investigations and coding newsroom software at The San Francisco Standard, which involved an epic weekly commute up the Interstate 5.

Right now, I'm finishing my senior year at USC, where I write an irreverant and scoopy newsletter called Morning, Trojan. We have more than 11,000 subscribers.

In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the mountains, forests, and beaches of California.
